Guest Alistair Moes is back for Part 2 where he will explain our blindspots as parents.

Alistair has run Moose Anger Management since 1995, and been in the counselling field since 1989. He leads a team of anger management therapists which include his partner in life and work, and co-owner, Alejandra Proaño, MPsy, MSc, MLit, PCC, RCC.

Jo is a Mum to a pre-teen and Step Mum to teenagers, a Parent Coach and the founder of UK based Invisible Thread.
Jo says “I know that parenting can be hard and I love helping parents find the balance and joy that they desire and deserve. Giving support to families is my passion without a doubt but gardening comes a close second and I can often be found knee deep in weeds in our very wild but heavenly garden. I often relate raising children to tending a garden especially the need to focus on the roots not the fruits. I support parents, like gardeners, to create loving, safe and nurturing environments for their children in which they can develop their sense of self and thrive”.
Jo works in partnership with the wonderful parenting support community Great Parenting Simplified which is a social care not for profit organisation that works internationally supporting parents through 1:1 coaching, parenting programs and longer-term parenting support groups.
Jo provides coaching on everyday parenting dilemmas such as screen time issues, bedtime struggles, school refusal and sibling rivalry as well as challenging situations such as children who have experienced trauma or received a mental health diagnosis such as Anxiety or PTSD. This is Emmalou Penrod's interview with me on her show Healing Your Families. Thank you, Emmalou, for the opportunity to share my message to parents.
Having unrealistic expectations comes from our childhood. We felt unworthy and not good enough. Perhaps our parents had high expectations of us. So we strive for perfection and demand this from ourselves and from our children. This causes stress and anxiety in us and in our children.#masterfulparenting #healingyourfamilies #unrealistic #expectations #anxiety #mentalhealth #healthy #unhealthy #winwinwomen

 Masterful Parenting

Does the pain from your childhood get in the way of you becoming the parent you want to be? Do you get triggered by what your child says and become over reactive and at times irrational. You are not alone, believe me. I too have carried pain from my childhood and I have struggled to be the parent I wanted to be. And parenting can be difficult at times. But what if I told you that there's a way to heal from your childhood pain, feel more energized, less reactive, more confident, and truly enjoy your children.

In the Masterful Parenting Program that runs for 8 weeks, I will help you become the parent you want to be. You will know how to heal from your own childhood, become more self-aware, learn how to connect better, and ways to communicate that touches your child's heart and ultimately have a healthy relationship with your child. I have helped many parents, as a high school counsellor, and I am also the mother of two boys, ages 23 and 13. My healing has come from by parenting and yours can, too.

If you want to heal, feel good about your parenting, less tired, more connected, and more appreciated by your kids, message me for a free 30 minute helping session and we will make a plan!

I truly believe parents can heal and raise healthy children and in doing this we will change the world. Let's do this!
