The Masterful Parenting Podcast - Heal Your Childhood and Parent Better Through Relational Parenting
Do you struggle in your parenting because of childhood pain? Do you sometimes repeat old patterns from your childhood? You want to be a better parent, but you don’t know how. I understand, parents. I came from dysfunction, trauma, and abuse. I didn’t know what was healthy. Over the years, as a school counsellor, and mom of two, I learned what is healthy and how to be healthy with my own children. There’s a better way to parent where you feel good and so do your children. This way can replace the old patterns so you can nurture healthy relationships with your kids. This is relational parenting. This is what I teach parents. Hi, I’m Anne Alvares, Parent Coach of the Masterful Parenting Program. In this 9 week program, I will help you to heal, gain confidence in your parenting and foster healthy relationships with your kids. You will learn how to become more self-aware, how to connect better, and ways to communicate that touches your child’s heart. I have helped many parents over the years as a high school counsellor and teacher and I am also the mother of two boys, age 23 and 13. I understand the challenges of parenting and have gained the skills to help keep peace and build relationship with your kids. And I can help you too. Guest Alistair Moes is back for Part 2 where he will explain our blindspots as parents.
Alistair has run Moose Anger Management since 1995, and been in the counselling field since 1989. He leads a team of anger management therapists which include his partner in life and work, and co-owner, Alejandra Proaño, MPsy, MSc, MLit, PCC, RCC.
This experience includes working with anger and trauma, and historic abuse in a manner that honours each person and allows for deep healing, as well as looking at the practical tools of anger management.
During the last twenty-eight years he has worked with thousands of people, mostly men, who have made the phone call out of a desire to create change. Alistair helps people to connect to the intelligence that exists in their heads, hearts and bodies in a manner that invites a deeper connection with themselves, and those close to them. He works exclusively with self-referred clients, which includes those sent from the workplace, or strongly encouraged by a partner, family member, and unfortunately, sometimes, a lawyer. Masterful Parenting
Does the pain from your childhood get in the way of you becoming the parent you want to be? Do you get triggered by what your child says and become over reactive and at times irrational. You are not alone, believe me. I too have carried pain from my childhood and I have struggled to be the parent I wanted to be. And parenting can be difficult at times. In the Masterful Parenting Program that runs for 8 weeks, I will help you become the parent you want to be.
